Catherine Benoot is born and raised in Belgium, but moved to Florida 21 years ago with her husband and 2 sons. Now, they are proud Americans by choice.
My dream was to be a clothing designer, but my parents didn't like me to be in this "artsy world". So I helped my husband in our business, although the designing bug in me never died. It always stayed with me.
One day my mother gave me a bag of buttons that belonged to my great - and grand parents. I didn't know what to do with them then, but I knew one day I would use them. A few years later, I acquired a mannequin at a closing sale at a boutique, and got the idea to glue my old family buttons on this mannequin. This is how my passion started.
Now I don't design clothing for people, but I create clothing with buttons for my mannequins. It is a passion for me, every button l touch gives me a warm and happy smile because each button is recycled and has a story. My mannequins are made with love and I only hope that they will go to houses where they're also loved and will bring smiles on peoples faces.
I call them my "Classy and Sassy" ladies. You will never feel alone in your home, and they’re beautiful addition to a nice foyer to welcome your guests.
